At Kanakuk, there are a lot of traditions. One of these traditions is tribal competitions. The competitions are an important part of having a blast at kamp, and end up being a highlight of most kampers terms.
We separate the boys and girls into two groups. Cherokees and Choctaws for the guys and Kiowas and Kickapoos for the girls. These are the groups that they will compete with all term and eventually a winner will be crowned at the end of the term.
Today, those who have tribes already will welcome the first year kampers into their tribes, and they will quickly begin to compete for tribal points.
We'll keep you updated on tribal competitions as the term continues!
