As Summer 2015 comes to a close, we want to thank our K-Seven family for a "Game Changing" summer.
“A Game Changer is someone who takes Jesus’ call seriously; striving to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19), and living life in a radical way that is unexplainable without the presence of Jesus Christ!” –Morgan Trainer, K-Kountry Assistant Women’s Director
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…”
As Jesus calls us to move forward, He also gives us a reason to do so. “Therefore” means, “In light of what you’ve seen and heard and believed in me…go.”
Jesus is commanding His troops to act. He’s shaking our desire for comfort and replacing it with urgency. Because we’ve witnessed His healing & experienced His hope, we can no longer stay silent or stagnant. It’s not an option He gives us.
Why can’t I settle for safety and security? Why can’t I stay where I am?
Jesus is not simply calling us to move forward. He’s directing us to do something—to “make disciples… baptizing them…” We cannot remain where we are, because there is a whole world in need of the hope and healing Jesus offers.
The world is in need of Game Changers.
Jesus changed the game when He died on the cross for our sins, wiping our slates clean. We can change the game by sharing this Good News with others! To become Game Changers, it’s important to remember these three things about our response to Jesus’ call:
- A response requires prayer. (Psalm 37:5)
Prayer gives us power to accomplish God’s will. Active communication with God gives us the wisdom and power we need to move forward and make the impact He is calling us to make!
- A response requires action. (James 1:22)
Obedience involves moving forward, doing what the Lord has asked us to do. Game Changers are all about action!
- A response requires faith. (Mark 11:23)
Sometimes we don’t feel like responding to God’s call. Sometimes the way before us is dark and we don’t know what’s next. Jesus asks us to “go” anyway, trusting Him in the midst of the unknown.
Kanakuk is so excited for a summer of equipping our Kampers to go forth in love & boldness, actively sharing the gospel with others. It’s our privilege to partner with you in His mission, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for all of our Game Changers in 2015!
